Louisiana Seafood Board Launches Message Board for Gulf Coast Seafood Industry
September 12, 2005

The Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board has announced it is launching a web message board in partnership with Seafood Business designed to reunite members of the Gulf Coast and Louisiana seafood industry affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The posting board, which can be accessed through www.LouisianaSeafood.com, will provide a platform for separated family members and acquaintances to post information on their whereabouts and the status of their loved ones.

It will also provide the means for fishermen to report on damages and losses to the industry by sector and location in each state.

Information gathered will be used to help assess the status of the Louisiana seafood industry, which has a $2.6 billion economic impact to the state.
