Plastic is common in several modern products we use every day, from clothing to containers and everything in between.  There is so much plastic in use that it has become a problem with our waterways.  How are our fisheries impacted?  Does it affect our drinking water supplies?  Please join us for a free presentation and demonstration on microplastics in Louisiana’s waterways.

The presentation will be followed by an interactive display.

Scheduled speakers will include Dr. Mark Benfield, Professor of LSU’s Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences; and Alma Robichaux, Education/Outreach Coordinator with the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program.

The presentation is open to LDEQ and the public, and registration is not required.
