Fishing Safety & Information: During Public Health Emergency
Louisiana Sea Grant, the LSU AgCenter and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries have produced a handout for commercial seafood harvesters to consider when handling seafood. These suggested handling techniques will help provide confidence to seafood buyers at all levels of the supply chain. (Also available in Spanish.)

Good Manufacturing Practices
Louisiana Sea Grant and LSU AgCenter have produced a series of videos for processors on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). These GMP regulations are required by federal law and for Seafood HACCP compliance, and focus on 8 sanitation control steps. While always important, following these GMPs in processing plants is more crucial than ever.

Posters Promoting Grocery Store Customer, Employee Safety
The posters — four targeting customers and two aimed at employees — are available for free download on the AgCenter’s website. They feature graphics and brief text offering reminders to keep at least 6 feet away from other people and steps for disinfecting shopping carts and counters. They were developed by Louisiana Sea Grant seafood specialist Evelyn Watts and LSU AgCenter food safety specialist Wennie Xu.

Public Health Emergency Response for Retail Store Managers

Therefore, the managers of retail stores that remain open during public health emergencies must take extra precautions to prevent the virus from spreading.
