Teacher Information
Join us for Ocean Commotion at the Burden Museum Visitor Center and surrounding grounds. You and your students will browse through more than 60 live exhibits featuring ocean/coastal related topics while enjoying the beauty of this natural space. This will be coordinated by one contact teacher for the morning and one for the afternoon session. Schools must come with sufficient chaperones to control and accompany students (1 chaperone to 10 students is recommended).
Yes, we’re moved locations! The Burden Museum and Gardens has recently opened a new Welcome Center, and this was the perfect time to partner and give your students a memorable field trip. In addition to the return of many amazing exhibits, you will also have the opportunity to explore the gardens with your students and we’re hoping to provide some self-guided activities, as well. Many of the exhibits will be in buildings around the garden area, but there is also more green space for your classes to enjoy. There may also some add-on trips that you could schedule with the AgCenter to make the most of your visit. See below for more details. And yes, we’ll have this event rain or shine! We’re already making back-up plans.
