Shrimp Summit Scheduled for First Week of April
A two-day educational shrimp summit for commercial fishermen will be held the first week of April.
The first day will take place April 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Larose Civic Center, 307 E. 5 th Street, Cut Off. Day two will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Houma Civic Center, 346 Civic Center Blvd., Houma.

Topics to be discussed at the Wednesday meeting in Larose include: fishing industry updates, shrimp economics, vessel safety, quality control, state regulations, the Trade Adjustment Act, and Louisiana Direct Seafood. Thursday participants will be introduced to Louisiana Direct Seafood Marketing Program and the local LaTer Direct Seafood project, and learn of other marketing techniques and issues.
