Postponed — Louisiana SciComm Summit
** UPDATE: The in-person Summit will be postponed until late summer or fall. However, we will still be providing a scicomm opportunity on March 27 in a virtual format. This will be open to all Louisiana graduate students, whether they were able to attend the Summit or not. More details will follow.
This science communication workshop—created by graduate students, for graduate students—is a two-day event designed to increase communication skills for Louisiana graduate students in the natural, physical and behavioral sciences. It is open to all graduate students who are currently enrolled at Louisiana universities and colleges. For its inaugural year, the SciComm Summit will be held on the Baton Rouge campus of Louisiana State University on March 26-27, 2020.
The Louisiana SciComm Summit will consist of a series of panels, engaging speakers, concurrent breakout sessions and working groups. These activities aim to enhance the communication skills of graduate student researchers and foster a community of practice for science communication.
There are a limited number of spaces for the Summit, so student participation will be determined by application review.
This event is being provided at no cost to the graduate students through support from Louisiana Sea Grant and the Louisiana State University Center for Collaborative Knowledge. Learn more about these organizations on the Sponsors’ page.
