The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) was established in 1992 by the Louisiana Sea Grant College Program. It provides talented undergraduate students interested in pursuing advanced studies in coastal-related disciplines with hands-on research experience which can:
- increase competitiveness as a graduate student;
- help with career-related decisions; and
- establish a working relationship with a faculty mentor.
