The Louisiana Hurricane Resources Web site, hosted by the Louisiana Sea Grant College Program, provides visitors with access to a wealth of data concerning storm preparedness and recovery, as well as archived information about Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1 and ends November 30.

After the Storms
On Aug. 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated southeast Louisiana. Only a few weeks later on Sept. 24, 2005, Hurricane Rita caused similar destruction on the state’s southwest coast. South Louisiana still struggles with recovery.
