LSG’s Rushing Promoted to Business Manager

Louisiana Sea Grant (LSG) would like to congratulate Lindsay Rushing on her promotion to the position of Business Manager.  

Rushing started at LSG in 2016 as a graduate assistant in the LSG Accounting Office. After graduating with her Master of Accounting degree from LSU in 2017, she returned to LSG in 2018 to accept the position of accounting coordinator.  

In November, she was promoted to Business Manager. She will now be the supervisor of the Accounting Office, overseeing two graduate assistants and one full time employee. She will work with projections and budgeting for LSG’s state operating budget, and work with more grant funding agencies, as her prior position mostly dealt with grants from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Additionally, Rushing will monitor all salary budgets and ensure that all payroll is allocating correctly regarding all considered funding sources. Lastly, she will work more closely with the Office of Research and Economic Development about budget reporting and any audit requests.
