Tran Joins Oyster Hatchery Team

Jacquelyn Tran has joined the Louisiana Sea Grant team as a research associate at the Michael C. Voisin Oyster Hatchery. Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, she earned her master’s degree in marine biology and limnology from the University of Oslo, Norway. She is looking forward to working in the hatchery and seeing firsthand the components of oyster production.

“During my master’s in Oslo, I solidified my interest in working with microalgae and I’m most excited to apply what I’ve learned in my new position. Also, being at the hatchery allows me to learn both sides of oyster restoration and aquaculture,” Tran said.
