About UROP

The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) was established in 1992 by the Louisiana Sea Grant College Program. It provides talented undergraduate students interested in pursuing advanced studies in coastal-related disciplines with hands-on research experience which can:

increase competitiveness as a graduate student;
help with career-related decisions; and
establish a working relationship with a faculty mentor.

The program is coordinated by Katie Lea, Reporting & Evaluation Manager for Louisiana Sea Grant.
