Better BRD Overview

This project aims to improve bycatch reduction by identifying, and increasing use of more efficient bycatch reduction devices (BRDs) for the Gulf shrimp trawl fishery. Successful BRD designs could be certified for use to provide Gulf shrimpers with additional BRD options.

BRD Manuals

Currently, there are five certified BRDs for use in the Gulf — Fisheye, Jones-Davis, Modifies Jones-Davis, Cone Fish Deflector Composite Panel, Square Mesh Panel Composite Panel. Detailed manuals of the five certified BRDs are available in English, Spanish or Vietnamese.
